sex-ed and our kids..........

Hi, I have opened this blog today because I am interested in bringing sexual pleasure thus, a sex-positive feeling back to our kids and, ourselves.

In my experience as a Psychotherapist and a Sexologist I have all too often come across women who have felt overwhelming anxiety from guilt or shame from expressing sexual pleasure with a loved one, or alone for that matter. Experience from a very early age taught these women that touching their genitals (which gave them natural pleasure) came with some kind of punishment, that was enough to let the kid know it was unacceptable behavior to touch! This is not our parents fault either, as they only followed the sex-negative teachings which were programed into their thought processes.

Unfortunately, this pleasure less society, or a society looking for pleasure in all the wrong places, is due to literally centuries of coercion from the Church, which sadly is in bed with the Politicians hence, the ongoing $'s and time into abstinence only programs that have proven over and over and over not to work. In America, teen pregnancy is the highest in the Industrial world! What does that say?
However, we can begin to make changes and treat our kids with respect and dignity for their developing sexualities. There is not much out there in the way of literature or books on sexual pleasure and infants, for fear of being labeled some kind of sexual criminal, but I'm working on it, as I type!
Thank you for listening. I hope this blog will take off the more I get into it and share human sexuality from around our wonderful Globe. Sexual pleasure with a loved one, or alone, can be a truly spiritual and transforming experience. Further, and soooooooo important, if taught early enough, it teaches our children sexual responsibility and, who they will choose to share their pleasure with as they get older. It is not only a win-win it is taking societal consciousness up a notch. Join me won't you?
